This is a very brief but necessary post. Yes, I am writing about a motorway service station. In particular, the recently opened Cobham services. It has become the source of a bit of a joke, as it is fairly near to where I’m from, and also where a friend’s daughter lives and where he regularly passes by for work. Every time either of us pass it, it is commented on when we next see each other, much to his wife’s ammusement. Cobham services is just pretty great. Firstly, it can be accessed from either direction on the motorway – always good. Secondly, it’s newly built, so it’s all still pretty nice and clean looking. Thirdly, it’s easy to meet my sister there as it’s half way between us at home, and being dairy free we need coffee shops that she can get soya milk in. Win. Fourthly, and most importantly, it’s bringing joy and laughter to two people who find the little mundane things in life highly entertaining. Why not? We need more fun in our serious, busy, work-filled lives, and I’m glad to say that Cobham services seems to provide it.
And that’s good enough for me.
